Farewell to Alan Whitcroft – A Legacy of Dedication and Inspiration

After an incredible 19 years as our Volunteer Coordinator, Alan Whitcroft retired at the end of August 2024.

Throughout his time with us, Alan worked with a diverse range of groups, including minority groups, youth rangers, and special needs communities. Regardless of who came through his door, there was always a common thread: the deep respect everyone had for Alan. He shared his vast knowledge, instilling valuable, transferable skills in all who had the privilege to learn from him.

But in true “Poacher turned Gamekeeper” fashion, this isn’t truly a farewell! Alan has already signed up to join us as an MHT volunteer, so it’s more of an “Au Revoir” than a “Goodbye.” While Alan might now have the luxury of staying in bed when the rain hits the windows, we’re thrilled to know we’ll still see him around—just in a slightly different role!   Thank you, Alan, for your dedication, inspiration, and the lasting impact you’ve made on so many.
