Introducing the Sustainable Stile !

Thanks to some generous donations, we recently acquired a timber mill that allows us to salvage large pieces of fallen trees from our work in the forest parks. We have put some oak from Castlewellan Forest Park to good use and constructed a new stile for the Bann’s Road.  We hope that the oak will prove durable, without requiring treatment or preservative. We have traditionally used preservative on other stiles however we sourced the most environmentally friendly one that we could find. In this case, we’re hoping that we won’t need any, which is even better !
If this pilot works well, we look forward to replacing stiles at other suitable locations.
